From Southold: We've talked about Tuesday night wines before. It may be the middle of the week and you may not be hitting the heights of culinary achievements in the kitchen for dinner, but damnit you worked hard today and those leftovers deserve more than cheap grocery store wine. This wine punches way above its pricing but in an effort to bring pleasure and joy, we wanted to give you something that didn't take too much thought to open, pour and drink. This is our “tuesday night” wine. Drink it whenever, wherever. Light bodied but full of soft red fruit and floral, violet notes.
Each of these varieties was picked, fermented, and aged separately. The Touriga
Nacional and Mataro were both aged in concrete and the Dolcetto was aged in
neutral French oak barrels. Native yeast fermentation, unfined and unfiltered, and no
additions save for a small S02 addition post malolactic fermentation.
Varietal Makeup: 46% Touriga Nacional, 46% Dolcetto, 13% Mataro
